Magic Persuasive Sticky Note
In 1968, a scientist at 3M in the United States, Dr. Spencer Silver, was attempting to develop a super-strong adhesive. Instead he accidentally created a “low-tack”, reusable, pressure-sensitive adhesive. For five years he and his fellows at 3M could not figure out how this solution would be of use to anyone. Then came a “light bulb” moment when a college came up with the idea of using the adhesive to anchor his bookmark and the magic began, the “Post-it” Note was born.
Well the sticky note may not “technically be magic,” however,an article by Harvard Business Review (HBR©) notes:
There are hundreds of ways to use the sticky note are easy to create and will stick securely wherever they are most needed:
- If you are planning an event, Sticky Notes are a great option for favors or raffle prizes.
- Coupons for a promotional offer
- Around the Office: They make great “What you missed…” forms for meetings, document routing forms for office use, shipping forms, and more
The next time you need someone to comply with a request, or the next time you’re giving a potential client something to review, try leaving a sticky note. A small personal touch will go a long way toward getting the results you want.
